港南村为南日镇下辖的行政村，位于镇政府驻地东南约5.5公里，西高村的南部，村委会驻厚福自然村。村名因村委会所在地在南日港的南岸而得。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地在宋元隶感德乡南匿里，明清隶四区南匿里。民国初归省府直接管辖，民国23年（1934年）属福清县九区，民国24年与25年为南日特区，民国29年划归莆田县南日镇，民国32年（1943年）改属南日镇港南村。[2]

新中国成立后，1949年属十三区沙港南，1950年属十三区西港南，1952年改隶二十四区港南乡，1954年至1955年称二十四区（南日）港南乡。1957年为南日镇港南高级社，1958年为南日公社港南大队，1984年设南日镇港南村委会。[2]

村况[edit]

村委会统辖11个自然村，设14个村民小组。博雅地名网记为804户、4328人，未注年份。村落轮廓为多边形。[2]

南山自然村内有港南杨氏墓，建于清道光己酉年（1849年），为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[3]

耕地1744亩，甘薯、大小麦为主，兼种大豆与花生；土特产有虾米与涌鱼。村内有小学2所与医疗所1个，公路可直达，有客车。境内有水库1座，灌溉面积1000亩。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]

2022年12月，村庄获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，同月另获「2022年福建省森林村庄」称号。[1]

2025年11月，村庄被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
