三墩村隶属南日镇，位于镇政府驻地东面约1.1公里，夹在海山社区与西高村之间，村委会驻头英石自然村。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

村域内有英石山、草湖山、后山仔三个小山头，合称「三墩」，村名取此意。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地在宋元隶感德乡南匿里，明清隶四区南匿里。民国初归省府直接管辖，民国23年（1934年）属福清县九区，民国24年至25年为南日特种区，民国29年划归莆田县南日镇，民国32年（1943年）称南日镇三墩村。[2]

新中国成立后，1949年属十三区三墩村，1950年为十三区三墩乡，1952年改隶二十四区三墩乡，1954年至1955年称二十四区（南日）三墩乡。1957年为南日镇三墩高级社，1958年并入南日公社三塘大社，1984年设南日镇三墩村委会。[2]

村况[edit]

村委会辖6个自然村，下设10个村民小组。博雅地名网记为696户、3494人，未注年份。聚落形状近似三角。[2]

耕地1649亩，甘薯与大小麦为主，兼种大豆、花生；林地1200亩，主要植木麻黄与相思树，另有少量黑松。土特产有紫菜。村内有小学、医疗所与南日农场，有电灯，岛上公路通全村，有客车。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，村庄被福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

2022年12月，村庄获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
