北峤村位于平海镇西南部，隔台湾海峡与台湾岛相望。2020年11月，它被认定为2020年度莆田市中级版「绿盈乡村」；2022年12月，被命名为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1913年这里属平海区，1929年为埭头七区嵌头乡。合作化后并入平海公社嵌头大队，1965年分出，另设北峤大队。1984年改设北峤村委会，1994年归莆田县平海镇。[1]
