山星村早先叫山前村，因北高镇也有一个山前村重名，1984年10月才改称山星。2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，它先后三次列入淘宝村名单。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

这里民国初年属平海区，1932年设山前乡，中华人民共和国成立后归赤坡乡。1957年改属东湖乡，1958年划入埭头公社赤坡大队，1960年，这里成为平海公社山前大队；1984年10月，它改设为村，1994年随镇归莆田县，2002年改属秀屿区。[3]
