前沁村原称后沁，因聚落逐渐向南面（前方）发展而改称前沁，村中仍保留后沁的地名。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

东峤盐民学校旧址位于本村6组。1932年至1933年间，中共莆田县委在此设立前沁盐场盐民学校，许彧青任校长。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年归第十八区，1954年改属第十九区，1956年划为前沁区辖地。1958年起隶笏石公社前沁大队，1961年改隶前沁公社，1965年又归东峤公社前沁大队，1984年并入东峤镇。[1]
