石尾村位于礼泉半岛上，北面与石头村相接，南面与石前村相连，临海而居。[1]
地名由来[edit]
旧时此处有一块大石，村子坐落在石的尾部，因而称石尾。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年，石尾属五区（笏石区）石象保与石象乡。1952年改属二十区（下塘）石象乡，1954年改称石江乡，1955年归忠门区石江乡，1957年隶属前运乡。1958年成为忠门公社双石大队。1960年，它分为前运公社的石头、石尾两个大队；1963年与石头村一同组成双石生产队。[2]
1965年，它重归东庄公社，仍称双石大队。1984年，双石大队一分为二，其中一支改称石尾生产队。1988年划入秀屿镇，1995年村委会迁址重建。2000年归东庄镇，2002年归秀屿区。[2]
