苏厝村位于礼泉半岛中部，地处湄洲湾畔，东面依山，南面傍海，距秀屿港约6公里。村名来自宋代苏姓人家在此开族定居。[1]
地名由来[edit]
苏厝村是宋朝时苏氏来此开族、聚居而形成的自然村落，故名苏厝。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年，苏厝与厝头、苏田并为苏田大队。1987年分出后，苏厝归莆田县东庄乡，成为苏厝村。1988年划入秀屿镇，2000年归东庄镇，2002年改属秀屿区东庄镇。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，苏厝村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。2021年3月，村庄被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办作出命名，苏厝村成为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2023年11月，村庄被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
