厝头村位于东庄镇政府南侧约1公里处，北靠五十六公路，南面临海。村名指村落位于苏厝村的前头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，厝头与苏厝、苏田共组苏田大队。1987年，它从中分出，成为厝头村。1988年划入秀屿镇，1994年起隶属秀屿区东庄镇。1995年村委会迁址重建，2000年归东庄镇，2002年划归秀屿区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年3月，厝头村被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办作出命名，厝头村成为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
