栖梧村位于石门澳畔，村境内只有栖梧一个自然村。村名的来历与一段关于凤凰的传说有关。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据说古时此地有一棵风水树形如凤冠，盐田形如凤翅，海上养殖海蛎用的砺石形如凤尾，整体看去像一只凤凰。村中又有一棵梧桐，凤凰栖息其上，故称此地“楼梧”，后读音转为“栖梧”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年，栖梧一带属五区（笏石）栖梧保与栖梧乡。1958年归忠门公社，称栖梧大队，1965年改属东庄公社。1984年，大队转为村，隶属东庄乡。1988年划入秀屿镇，1992年重建村委会，2000年归东庄镇，2002年归秀屿区。[2]
