岭美村属福建省莆田市秀屿区笏石街道。村名取岭下与下尾两个自然村名各一字，其中下尾一名谐音「霞美」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年隶属第5区徐岑保，1950年为第5区徐保乡，1952年改属笏石区徐岭乡，1954年划入第16区徐岭乡。[1]

1955年分属第16区岭美乡与笏石区岭美乡，1956年归笏石区，1957年组成岭下高级社，1958年设笏石公社岭美大队，1984年改为笏石镇岭美村委会。[1]

荣誉称号[edit]

福建省爱卫办在2021年11月把「2021年福建省卫生村」的称号授予岭美村。[1]
