笏石街道位于福建省莆田市秀屿区西北部，是秀屿区人民政府所在地。它原为笏石镇，2025年1月撤镇设街。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据维基百科，街东一座小丘上原有一块天然竖立的圆形石板，形如朝见用的笏板，乡人称之为「企石」；后人取「缙笏朝天」之意，改称「笏石」。[2]

维基百科又记，明弘治十六年（1503年）的《兴化府志》已载「跂石」之名，地属崇福乡合浦里。[2]

1913年，此地先设镇公所，归莆田县第五区管辖，此为维基百科的说法；博雅地名网则记为设笏石区。[2][3]

笏石乡设立于1957年12月，1958年10月改行政与公社合一的体制，成为公社。[1][3] 1965年8月，撤区并社之后，笏石再度设为公社，驻地同样在笏石街。[3][2] 1984年改为笏石镇，百度百科与博雅地名网同此说；维基百科记为1990年12月改镇。[1][2][3]

1996年，此地改由湄洲湾北岸经济开发区管委会管理，但行政归属仍在莆田县；2002年改属秀屿区。[1][3]

福建省人民政府在2025年1月撤销笏石镇，同年2月10日，莆田市政府核准成立笏石街道；办事处驻地、政区名称和管辖范围都未变动。[2] 百度百科把撤镇与设街都记在2025年1月12日。[1] 秀屿区政府的信息公开指南（2025年3月31日）已使用「笏石街道办事处」之名。[4]

街道面积据百度百科为68.67平方千米；博雅地名网记作约65平方公里，未注年份。[1][3]

按百度百科所载，2023年的常住人口是14.1万人，其中户籍人口为13.98万人。[1] 博雅地名网记为约12.92万人，未注年份。[3]

交通[edit]

杭福深铁路在境内设有莆田站，维基百科与百度百科均将其列为街道的交通条目。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

土海生态湿地公园在笏石，前身是唐朝贞观五年（631年）挖成的「国清塘」。据百度百科，该公园2008年启动建设，2017年开展二期工程，列为「国家3A级旅游景区」。[5]

五侯山又名笔架山，主峰海拔约329米，山体跨在北高镇、笏石镇与东峤镇的交界处。山顶的宗教建筑有蕊月宫与通明殿，另保留明代御笔石刻与清代碑文。[6]

福建省人民政府在2019年6月把笏石列入「第六批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。[3]

环境保护部于2014年9月把「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予笏石。[3]

2020年12月，笏石经福建省爱卫办确认，获「福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[3]

2021年3月，笏石被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[3]
