东皋村位于北高镇东北侧，东面朝向兴化湾，离镇中心20公里，是镇内最为偏远的村庄之一，下辖2个自然村。村名的来历是早年村民在溪流东岸的高地上聚居，遂名东皋。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年此地属六区，此后隶属十七区管辖下的一个乡。1957年归埕头乡，1958年设笏石公社，1960年划出东皋大队。1961年至1965年间改归另一公社，随后并入北高公社；1984年起称北高乡东皋村，2002年划入荔城区北高镇。[2]

2024年1月，东皋村获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
