埕前村与前亭村相邻，西侧靠着埕头集镇，北埕公路贯穿村境，距镇中心6公里，位于埕头集镇的边界处。村名的来历是村中早先建有古厝，四周又是大片埕地，人们顺着埕地前缘造屋居住，因此取名埕前。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、元两代此地归崇福乡，明、清两代归兴福里，民国时期分属笏石区、北高乡与前营保。1949年仍属六区前营保；新中国成立后改设乡建制，1951年因土改另设埕前乡。此后多次改属邻近的乡与公社，1984年起为北高乡埕前村，2002年归荔城区北高镇。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，埕前村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
