呈山村位于北高镇西部，西侧与黄石镇毗连，距镇中心仅1公里，离北高集镇很近。村名由呈洋、留山两个地名各取一字组成。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地宋、元时属崇福乡，明、清时属兴福里，民国时为笏石区北高乡下的呈高保。新中国成立后曾设呈高乡，此后归笏石公社管辖下的一个大队，1961年转属北高公社。1984年改称北高乡呈山村，2002年划归荔城区。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年3月，村子列入「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；同年11月，省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
