北高社区位于北高镇中部，由原北高村于2018年改设而成。这里是镇人民政府的驻地，也是全镇行政、经济与文化的核心地段，几条主要公路在此交会。[1][2]

社区名称取自地势，这里南低北高。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带在宋、元两代隶属崇福乡，明、清两代并入兴福里。民国年间先后归笏石区、北高乡和呈高保管辖。中华人民共和国成立后经历北高大队与北高村等变化，1984年12月才改为北高乡北高村，2002年划入荔城区。2018年，北高村改设为社区居民委员会。[2]

文化[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月把北高社区列为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
