北高镇是福建省莆田市荔城区下辖的镇[5]，位于荔城区东南沿海，北面临兴化湾，距城关16千米[4]。全镇辖1个社区、23个行政村[4]，镇人民政府设在北高社区[13]。

镇内有祠堂、书院、庙宇和石塔等古建筑，其中六处被列为莆田市级文物保护单位[6][7][8][9][10][12]。北高镇1992年改为建制镇，2002年划归荔城区管辖[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地在宋、元两代隶属崇福乡，到明、清又归兴福里，民国年间仍属莆田县。旧称肩头店，清代末年才形成市集，后因地势北高南低而改称北高。[1][2]

1958年10月，镇域划为笏石公社的一部分。1965年8月设北高人民公社，之后于1984年10月改回乡建制，1992年6月才改设为镇，这期间都属莆田县。2002年2月28日起属荔城区。[2][1]

地理环境[edit]

北高镇位于莆田市荔城区东南沿海，全镇面积54平方千米。镇域东面与后海垦区相邻，北面临兴化湾，西接南洋平原，南与秀屿区笏石镇接壤。镇内最高峰是海拔329.9米的五侯山，海岸线全长27.5公里。气候属南亚热带海洋性季风气候。[3][4][1]

2021年3月，北高镇被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

北高陈氏宗祠、北高国学馆（小宗）与北高永禄书院三处古迹都在山前村，并均列为「莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位」。[6][7][8]

陈氏宗祠的起源可上溯到宋理宗年间，明代洪武时期曾整修，清末以来又有几次修缮。建筑群分为三部分：永安书社、陈氏祠堂与尚德堂。祠堂外埕有两口古井，井栏刻有明代万历年间及弘治年间的重修字样。[6]

国学馆（小宗）建于清代中期，属三座厝的格局，内有天井，石雕与木雕精美，现作为寿山国学馆等使用。北高永禄书院的始建年代不详，原在宋代关圣庙的基础上建成，明末兵部尚书王家彦曾在此就读，现以关公文化为主。[7][8]

冲沁沁安宫位于冲沁村上沁安自然村。它原名沁江宫，清代才改称沁安宫；建造年代可追溯到明代，之后清代与近代各有重修。殿内保存明清两代的妈祖神像和神龛，以及清末张琴书写的匾额。[9]

塔仔塔位于汀江村，博雅地名网称在其后埕口自然村，百度百科则称在赤屿上。该塔又称赤屿塔、塔仔、罗星，明万历十三年（1585年）建成，为五层的石塔，平面四角，楼阁式，中空，高约15米，是当地的航标性建筑。[10][11]

通明殿位于福岭村东田自然村，创建于明代，历代屡有修葺，现存建筑为近代重修。殿为三进的廊院式布局，中轴依次为山门、拜亭、玉皇殿和大雄宝殿。[12]

著名人物[edit]

翁承赞（859—932年），字文尧，晚号狎鸥翁，籍贯为莆阳兴福里竹啸庄，即今竹庄村。[2]
