港西村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于莆田南洋平原，距镇中心约1千米，辖北厝、西厝、尾厝三个自然村。[1]

地名[edit]

村名原为西厝，后因地处港利村的西部，改称港西。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

早年属感德乡，明清时归四区南力里，民国时隶属黄石镇港利保一带。新中国成立后归五区港利乡，再经清江乡港利高级社与黄石公社清江大队。1961年起设港西大队，隶属渠桥公社；1984年大队改村，归渠桥乡管辖。此后并入新度镇，2002年起属荔城区。[1][3]

经济[edit]

村里以种稻为主。博雅地名网称禽苗业历史悠久，村中还有若干家饲料、印染和鞋材类的民营企业。[1]

2021年10月和2022年10月，港西村两次入选「淘宝村」名单。[1]
