扬美村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域内，距镇中心约1千米，设10个村民小组。[1]
地名[edit]
早年村民建居在溪流尾部，因地势平坦，此地称洋尾；后因谐音改称扬美。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代属永嘉乡，明清时称拱林渠，明朝时隶属陂头镇洋东保，新中国成立后归莆田九区洋东乡。1956年并入渠桥乡新林高级社，1961年由新林大队析出洋尾大队；1981年改称溪东大队，此后于1984年成为溪东村。2002年3月起改名扬美村，属荔城区新度镇。[1][3]
文化[edit]
2020年11月，扬美村获「第六届全国文明村镇」称号；2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，扬美村三次入选「淘宝村」名单。[1]
