东坝村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于木兰溪下游岳公段，属城乡结合部，距镇中心约1千米，距市区约3千米，辖东坝、塘东两个自然村。[1]

地名[edit]

木兰陂未建以前，村民曾在村东筑坝引水灌溉农田，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

早年属永嘉乡与维新里，民国时为黄石镇及兰溪乡的洋东保。新中国成立后归九区洋东乡，后又经渠桥乡新林高级社与黄石公社新林大队。1962年起称东坝大队，隶属渠桥公社；1984年改为渠桥乡东坝村。此后归新度镇，2002年起属荔城区。[1][3]

经济[edit]

半数以上农户从事禽苗的生产与饲养，已形成产、运、销一条龙的格局。[1]
