南梧塘村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于壶公山下、木兰溪畔，距镇中心约2千米，辖4个自然村。[1][4]

地名[edit]

村名原为龟塘。清乾隆年间，村中魁斗沟泉水清澈，壶山倒影其中，御史廖必琦改称壶塘。方言谐音读作梧塘，后为避免同名，改称南梧塘。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国三年（1914年）隶属梧霞乡的梧塘保。此后于1960年设梧塘大队，1984年设梧塘村，后更名南梧塘村。1992年划入新度镇，2002年归荔城区。[1][3]

文化[edit]

2021年3月，南梧塘村获「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」称号；2021年11月，获「2021年福建省卫生村」命名。[1]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，南梧塘村三次入选「淘宝村」名单。[1]
