渠桥村是新度镇下辖的行政村，下辖渠桥、下渠头和圳尾三个自然村。[1][4]

地名[edit]

村境内有壶公山一带的溪流经过。早年村民为出行建桥，后因灌溉缺水，又在桥旁修渠，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

早年属永嘉乡与维新里，民国时划入黄石镇锦墩保一带。新中国成立后先归九区锦墩乡，后由渠南高级社与黄石公社渠南大队管辖。1961年成为渠桥公社的渠桥大队，1984年改村，隶属渠桥乡；1992年归新度镇，2002年归荔城区。[1][3]

博雅地名网称，该村历史上曾是新度镇的经济和文化中心，水陆交通便捷。[1]

「壶山致雨」列为莆田二十四景之一，博雅地名网称这一景致在渠桥村一带尤为明显。[1]

渠桥村于2021年3月获「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」称号，并于2021年10月和2022年10月两次入选「淘宝村」名单。[1][4]
