善乡村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于壶公山东麓，距镇中心约4.5千米，据百度百科载下辖13个自然村。[1][4]

地名[edit]

早年村里有郑氏居民，性情淳朴善良，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

早年属感德乡，明清隶属南力里。民国时曾归黄石镇、沟尾乡与壶山乡管辖，所在地称善塘保。新中国成立后并入善德乡，后又分属渠桥乡的善东高级社。1959年设渠桥公社善乡大队，1984年起称善乡村；1992年划入新度镇，2002年隶属荔城区。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

壶公山一带的石泉寺旁有宋代陈俊卿的古墓。[1]

经济[edit]

村民以种植甘蔗、果树、水稻和蔬菜为主，乌蔗与果树是村里的特色农业。[1]

善乡村于2021年10月和2022年10月两次入选「淘宝村」名单，2023年11月获「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」认定。[1][4]
