沟口社区是新度镇下辖的社区，位于木兰溪下游，距镇中心约4千米。2018年11月，沟口村改为沟口社区居民委员会。[1]

地名[edit]

村内有木兰溪的一条支流流经，村民建居在溪流的出口一带，村名即由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时属维新里一带，民国归黄石镇沟墩保管辖。合作化后并入渠桥乡的双星高级社，1965年随渠桥公社设置。1985年起称沟口村；2002年隶属荔城区，2018年11月改设为社区。[1][3]

经济[edit]

木兰溪南洋水道穿过村境，田间水渠纵横。村里主产稻米、荔枝、蔬菜和食用菌，是荔城区的蔬菜生产基地之一。[1]

沟口社区于2020年12月获「2019年度福建省一村一品示范村」称号（蔬菜类），2023年11月又被认定为莆田市中级版「绿盈乡村」（2023年度）。[1]
