新度镇是福建省莆田市荔城区下辖的镇，位于荔城区西南部，壶公山北麓、木兰溪南岸，距市区约5千米。全镇辖3个社区、25个行政村。1992年至1993年间由渠桥乡改称新度镇，2002年随莆田县撤销划归荔城区。镇域内有宋元以来的宗祠、庙宇和桥梁，还有1930年代至1940年代的革命旧址。[1][3][6]

历史沿革[edit]

宋、元时期，今镇域分属感德乡和永嘉乡。明、清时期这里属莆田县，分属四区、五区下的胡公里、南力里、维新里、国清里和安乐里。民国时期分属三区、黄石镇，以及壶山、兰溪等乡。[4]

1958年成立壶山人民公社，1965年设立渠桥人民公社，社址迁驻下坂村。1984年改为渠桥乡，此后乡址迁至新度村并改称新度镇。各书所记改镇年份不一：博雅地名网作1993年，百度百科作1993年，维基百科作1992年。[4][1][2]

2002年8月，莆田县撤销，新度镇划归新设立的荔城区管辖。各村的沿革记述也多在1992年前后改属新度镇，2002年改属荔城区。[4][1][7][8]

地理环境[edit]

镇域背靠壶公山北麓，南侧临木兰溪，东与黄石镇相接。面积各书不一：百度百科载为58.46平方千米，维基百科、博雅地名网与荔城区政府网站则作61平方千米。[1][2][3][6]

截至2019年末，全镇户籍人口为108395人，见百度百科所载。[1]

经济[edit]

新度镇以农业和禽苗业为主。博雅地名网的概况称，镇内禽苗生产历史悠久，并设有禽苗同业协会，因此素有「禽苗之乡」之称。该概况所引统计截至2002年，此后的情况可参见各村的记述。[3]

果树与蔬菜种植也是镇内的主要农业，博雅地名网载有万亩果树与数千亩蔬菜种植基地。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内文物以宗祠、庙宇和桥梁为主。位于蒲坂村的蒲坂郑氏宗祠始建于宋代，明代由郑岳重建，2005年公布为福建省文物保护单位；同村的蒲坂戴氏宗祠建于明成化十八年（1482年），2009年公布为福建省文物保护单位。[9][10][11]

五府桥在下横山村，始建于宋元祐年间，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。厝柄村的龙津庙元代中叶为纪念抗元名将陈文龙而建，为莆田市市级文物保护单位。锦墩村的祥云殿唐光化年间（898年）已有记载，为莆田市市级文物保护单位。郑露墓在宝胜村，同为莆田市市级文物保护单位。[12][13][14][15]

阳城林公祠在阳城村曲尺自然村，始建于明嘉靖年间，清代重修，为单进廊院式建筑。[16]

文化[edit]

革命旧址有中共莆田县委干部会议会址（宝胜村院后自然村）、闽中游击纵队成立旧址（东宋村西亭自然村）、中共莆田中心县委旧址（东埔余村）、青垞革命活动据点旧址（青垞村）和莆田总行委扩大会议会址（桂林村三十六乡）。这些旧址大致形成于1930年至1947年间。[5]

壶山致雨是莆田二十四景之一，博雅地名网称这一景致在渠桥村一带尤为明显。[17]
