清前村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇以北约3公里处，属莆田南洋平原地带。村东与三华一带毗邻，西与新度镇相接，北靠清后村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

早先村民迁入清江上游开垦定居，村名因此而来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先是感德乡的莆田里，后于明清划归四区莆田里。解放前为清前、清后两保的地界，新中国成立后隶属清江乡。[4]

1957年此地组成两个高级社；1958年时大队名为清江大队；1961年一分为二，形成清江与清前两个大队。1984年改为黄石镇清前村，2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇。[4]
