清中村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇政府所在地的西北部，距镇政府约4公里，东靠宁海一带，西北通荔港大道。村名来自所在清江的中游。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

早年村民建居在清江中游的溪畔，故取名清中。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

这里在宋元为感德乡之地，明清为四区莆田里之地；民国时拆分为三区的清江乡与黄石乡后保。新中国成立后，清江乡一带由三区、黄石区分管，并一度归清后里。[4]

1959年，此地建为黄石公社清江大队，1961年更名清中大队。1984年这里改为清中村，隶属黄石镇；2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇。[4]
