下江头村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇的西北部，地处木兰溪下游，东靠宁海古桥，西靠西利村。村中铁器加工的手艺传承已久。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子地处木兰溪下游，地势较低，故而得名下江头。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，这里设下江头大队；1984年改称下江头村，2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇，设下江头村委会。[4]
