华堤村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇，座落于木兰溪下游冲积平原的南洋水乡，东与华东村相邻，西与清前、清后两村接壤。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

镇海堤筑成之后，原在附近居住的村民陆续迁居到堤旁，逐渐形成新的村落，村名因此取作华堤。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此地同样属感德乡，明清时期在三区连江里之内。民国时期隶属三区华东乡，解放前称华堤保，同属黄石区。新中国成立后设华堤乡；到1952年，它并入华江乡。[4]

1957年华江乡又与江东、海滨等地合并，1958年改设黄石公社华堤大队；1960年一度归清江公社，之后仍为黄石公社的华堤大队。1984年改称华堤村，2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇。[4]
