地名由来[edit]
原属东华片区，村民建居于片区中部，故取名华中。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
旧时此地属感德乡连江里，明清时期为三区连江里的一部分。民国时曾隶属东华乡华西保，新中国成立后设华西乡。1958年设市前，这里成立了黄石人民公社华西大队。[4]
1962年华西大队分为华西、华中两个大队，1964年又合并为华中大队。1984年12月这里改称黄石镇华中村，2002年起归荔城区管辖。[4]
