屏山村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇东北方向约3公里处，濒临兴化湾，村后的玉屏山脉挡住了海风。村内含屏山、梅湖两个自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村后有山，形如一道屏障，村名由此而来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时，此地隶属兴化府莆田县崇福乡兴福里；明清时期改属兴化府莆田六区的兴福里。民国时期归三区（黄石区），与斗南、梅湖等地共同组成屏南保。[4]

新中国成立后，这里归北高区管辖，设屏南乡。1958年设黄石公社的屏山大队；1984年11月起称黄石镇屏山村，2002年以后设屏山村委会。[4]
