沙堤村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇的北部，东邻北高镇一带，西邻凤山村，北至惠下村，南与笏石镇的珠坑相接。全村面积约1.5平方千米。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

此地靠近海边，周边沙土较多。早年村民修筑堤坝以防潮汐，村名由此得来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属感德乡，之后又划入三区连江里；民国年间，它成了东华乡下的沙堤保。新中国成立后，这里先设沙堤乡，又曾归北高区管辖。1984年设为沙堤村，隶属黄石镇。[4]

2002年以后，村归荔城区黄石镇所辖，设沙堤村委会。[4]
