地名由来[edit]
早年村民在此修建砖瓦窑，烧制砖瓦，故最初称窑兜，后来改称瑶台。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
宋元时期此地属感德乡连江里，明清时期属四区连江里。民国时曾归笏石区，20世纪30年代前后改属黄石区。1958至1975年间为黄石公社的瑶台大队，1984年建为瑶台村，2002年以后归荔城区。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
瑶台中一堂位于中境自然村，为祀奉三一教主林龙江的堂宇。堂宇始建于明万历年间，由林龙江的弟子林亹、林梦熊等人创建，清代经过重修。坐西向东，堂中存有明代知县何南金所书“超一函三”匾。[5]
