常溪社区位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇的东南部，临近天妃路，是一个由移民安置形成的社区。居民迁自原莆田县常太镇一带，因水库建设而搬迁至此。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年，因建设后溪水库，原居民迁至黄石农场一带安置。2000年4月，此处设立社区，当时属莆田县黄石镇；2002年莆田县撤销后，改属荔城区黄石镇。2004年，又有九户三峡水库移民迁入。[2][3]

地名由来[edit]

社区名各取原居地常太镇的“常”字与后溪水库的“溪”字组合而成。[4]

社区概况[edit]

社区内的经济以木雕工艺与鞋材加工等民营企业为主，居民区集中，人口在镇内各社区中属较少的一个。[2]
