象峰村位于西天尾镇，地处通往九华山的道路上。村名取自境内九座相连山峰的形状如象。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
因境内有九座山峰相连，形如大象，取名「象峰」。[1]
宋元时属崇业乡，明清隶一区常太里，民国时分属一区的洞湖乡、延寿乡与象峰保。新中国成立后归四区象峰乡，此后依次划入七区、十区。1957年组建西天尾区上峰高级社，1958年设涵江公社上方大队，1961年转入西天尾公社为上峰大队。1984年改为乡下的上峰村，1986年12月升为镇下的象峰村，2002年起为荔城区西天尾镇象峰村。[1]
2019年12月，入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单；2021年6月，被认定为「2021年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2024年6月，入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单；2025年6月，被认定为「2025年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为枇杷。[1]
