后卓村位于西天尾镇，村名据博雅地名网所载与宋代卓氏迁入开发、据有龟湖山有关。村内有郭尚先墓、荔枝公园和桃峰联络站旧址。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，宋代自开基始祖之后，有卓氏迁入开发，据有龟湖山，故得村名。[1]

宋元时属武化乡，明清隶二区尊贤里，民国时归一区延寿乡的后卓保。新中国成立后先属四区后卓乡，后归十区，1952年改隶七区，1957年组建后卓乡高级社，1958年并入涵江公社为后卓大队，1961年转入西天尾公社。1965年大队改设革命领导小组，1980年恢复大队，1984年底改为乡下的后卓村，1986年升为镇下的村，2002年起属荔城区西天尾镇。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2023年11月，被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村境内有郭尚先墓，并建有占地约3万平方米的荔枝公园，供旅游、观光、休闲与健身之用。[1]

桃峰联络站旧址位于桃峰自然村，1938年成立，主要成员为陈茂柏夫妇及其亲属，以开设油漆店与饭店作掩护，筹集革命活动经费，开展地下斗争。[1]
