莘郊社区位于拱辰街道东部，东邻西洙村，西接拱辰社区。社区地名相传因早年有莘氏在此定居，地形如沟而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时此地隶属武化乡，明清两代归二区的二德里。民国十七年，此地分属莘郊乡和熙宁乡；新中国成立后，其建制几经变动，先后有新郊乡、郊下乡与莘郊高级社等名目，最后归入城厢公社。[1]

1961年设郊下莘郊大队，2002年起为拱辰街道的莘郊社区，设居民委员会。[1]
