英龙社区位于莆田市荔城区镇海街道北部，距街道办事处约1.5公里。[1][2]

社区名称取自英惠社、龙坡社各一字。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区东侧紧邻福厦公路；梅园东路在南面把它与凤山社区、长寿社区隔开，西面是梅峰社区。[1]

人口[edit]

社区住户约3500户，人口为11000人；全社区划分为11个居民小组。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，此地属荣业乡；明清两代划入一区东厢。[1]

1929年，此地改属一区城北乡；1943年，又归城厢镇的英龙保与元妙保。新中国成立后，地名曾改为英龙街、元妙街、城旧街，70年代一度称红星街，至1980年底改回英龙街。[1]

2002年，此地设立莆田市荔城区镇海街道英龙社区及其居委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

元妙观三清殿位于梅园路北侧，始建于唐贞观二年（628），宋大中祥符八年（1015）重修，为第四批全国重点文物保护单位。[1][4]

黄滔祠位于东里巷，元大德八年（1304）为纪念黄滔所建，2009年列为福建省文物保护单位。[1][5]

社区内还有莆田云门寺、东山祖祠、东山妈祖行宫等文物古迹，东岩山石塔（报恩塔）也在社区范围内。[2]

文化[edit]

社区内有麟峰小学、莆田四中等学校。[3]

社区于2021年3月被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」，2021年11月被命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」，2024年12月列入「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
