长寿社区位于莆田市荔城区镇海街道，属主城区，南连文献社区，北邻梅峰社区与英龙社区。[1]

社区名称来自一则传说：宋代有位名叫陈宣的人活到百岁，明朝皇帝追封他为「长寿圣王」，后人尊他为一社之主，社因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，此地隶属崇业乡；明、清时期归一区左厢管辖。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

大宗伯第在庙前路附近，是明代礼部尚书陈经邦的府第，明万历二十年（1592）建成，按明制一品官府规格建造，现为福建省文物保护单位。[1][2]

林扬祖故居位于长寿街庙前路，清咸丰年间建成，是单进合院式建筑。[1]

伯棠医院在庙前，建于20世纪30年代，砖木结构，现作民居。它是莆田市的第九批市级文物。[1]
