历史沿革[edit]
宋代，此地隶属崇业乡；明清两代归一区左厢管辖。[1]
民国时期先后划入第一区城中镇与城厢镇文献保。新中国成立后，地名几经变化，「文化大革命」期间称文革街，1980年底又改回文献街这一名称。[1]
1984年，此地设为莆田市城厢区的文献居委会；2002年改称荔城区文献社区。[1]
人口[edit]
社区有住户1619户，流动人口1987人，在册人口4076人，总人口6063人，辖区总面积0.3平方千米。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
社区内有古谯楼、文峰宫（文峰天后宫）、游家四合院，以及崇功祠、宋德星宅等文物古迹。[1]
