瑶山村位于福建省莆田市涵江区北部山区，东与大洋村接壤，西与车口村交界，南邻可山村。[1]

村名原作“摇山”。村中有水头宫，并有悬钟岭战斗旧址、闽中支队粮仓旧址等革命遗迹。[1][2][3][5]

地名由来[edit]

村落四面环山，村民住在像摇篮一样的山间谷地里，早先叫“摇山”，之后因音近而改写成“瑶山”。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子位于北部山区，平均海拔约350米。东面有南山森林，西面是虎头山，南有乳母山，北靠贵山，村落中部为一块盆地。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前，村子属兴化县广业里；民国时划入莆田县第四区游洋乡东里保。新中国成立后曾归十三区度口乡管辖，1958年编入新县人民公社，称瑶山生产大队；1965年转由大洋公社管理，1984年底定名为莆田县大洋乡瑶山村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

水头宫位于村中，始建于宋淳熙五年（1178），清道光年间重建，近代又经修缮。宫为前后两殿，当地又称瑶山祖庙。2020年12月，水头宫被公布为涵江区第九批文物保护单位。[3]

悬钟岭战斗旧址在西福自然村，位于虎头山下，今已改造成小水塘，用于灌溉。1949年7月，闽中支队与解放军先遣队在悬钟岭共同布防，阻击进犯的国民党军。[2]

闽中支队粮仓旧址位于三连自然村，即水头宫。1949年3月底，中共大洋区委在会议上决定打开国民党设在大洋的粮库，把粮食分给贫苦农民，部分谷子运到水头宫加工，供给闽中地委与游击队。[5]

文化[edit]

2020年12月，瑶山村入选2020年福建省森林村庄。2022年12月，瑶山村获评2022年福建省卫生村。2025年6月，瑶山村被认定为2025年莆田市「一村一品」专业村，主导产业为地瓜。[1]
