泗洋村隶属福建省莆田市涵江区新县镇，处于涵江区西北部。村东与福清市东张镇的全芝村相接，西面挨着文笔村，南侧是外坑村，北侧毗连白鹤村。村中海拔约676米。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村名原作薛洋。相传唐代百丈镇镇将薛廷辉在此定居，故名薛洋，后因同音改作泗洋。[1][2]

泗洋是宋代武状元薛奕的祖籍地。薛奕为宋熙宁九年武状元，同郡的徐铎则在同一科夺得文状元。[2]

村中海拔676米，山地资源丰富，土壤肥沃，雨水充足，适宜种植枇杷。村落面积各书所载不同：博雅地名网作16平方千米，百度百科作12平方千米。[2][3]

村中留有宋代古民居8座，其中以“上下合院”的格局最具特点；村中另有祠堂与古井。[2]

村中山地广阔，适宜发展枇杷，并有草地可以放牧牛羊；冬闲田多种植反季节蔬菜。[2]
