墘顶村隶属福建省莆田市涵江区新县镇，处在镇的西部，周围群山环绕，村中一条溪流贯穿而过，把农田切成东西两片。东边与大洋乡接界，西侧连着广宫村，南面与张洋村为邻。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据传约五百多年前，陈姓先祖因战乱从河南洛阳迁来定居，地名原称洛阳，至今流传着“洛阳家声大，墘峰世泽长”的楹联。[1][2]

解放前，村子四面临山、地势险要，人民游击队曾聚集在大会自然村发动群众，村庄成为革命基点村之一。[1][2]

村中耕地833亩，山地8413亩，另有果园地约300亩；境内银坑一带蕴藏铅锌矿，乌溪水源充足。以上面积数字据博雅地名网，未注明年份。[2]
