走墘村隶属涵江区庄边镇。村名的来历，据传是旧时有一位总督遭迫害，逃命隐居于此，人们称其为“走赢”，后因方言谐音写作“走墘”。[1]

村内的走墘胡氏宗祠为清代建筑，2020年12月列入涵江区第九批文物保护单位。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时此地属兴化县，明代裁县后归莆田县广业里。新中国成立后属14区的岐西乡，1958年并入庄边人民公社，1961年归黄龙公社，后又属庄边公社走墘大队。1968年设革命领导小组，1984年改设走墘村民委员会，1992年9月归庄边镇，2002年起属涵江区。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

走墘胡氏宗祠为清代建筑，属一进廊院的格局，正厅前有门厅与天井。正厅面阔五间，悬山顶，抬梁式土木结构，保留了清代建筑风格。[3]
