西音村隶属涵江区庄边镇。据传，明初有一位护驾将军打算在此建都城，工程未竟，地名遂由西京改作西音。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，村地属14区滁溪乡；1954年改归13区的庄边乡，1961年设松西公社，1965年为庄边公社的松西音大队。1984年改设村委会，此后归庄边镇，2002年划入涵江区。[2]
