宝阳村早先写作马洋，据传与唐末一位越王在此养马的传说有关，后因莆田方言中两字读音相近，改为宝阳。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村落始建于唐代。1949年隶属第十四区公所，1952年改隶第十三区公所，1965年8月成为白沙公社的宝阳大队。1984年，大队撤并后改设宝阳村，隶属白沙乡；1988年归白沙镇，2002年起属涵江区白沙镇。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，宝阳村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
