狮亭村村中的狮亭昭惠新宫，2018年被列为福建省第九批省级文物保护单位。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村落周围有两座形状如狮的山峰，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年以前村落称西亭大队，1984年大队改为村，属莆田县白沙乡；1988年改属莆田县白沙镇，2002年起属涵江区白沙镇。[1]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
狮亭昭惠新宫在利坪自然村。宫庙的起源可追溯到乾隆元年（1736年），现存的主体建筑则是光绪十七年（1891年）重建的。宫内坐西南朝东北，前殿与正殿均面阔五间，中间以天井与廊庑相连，内存清代壁画十幅，并有陈宝琛题写的对联两副。省政府于2018年9月7日将它公布为第九批省级文保单位。[2][3]
