澳东村原属澳柄村，位于澳柄村东边，村中的澳柄宫革命旧址和白沙红军岭等旧址留存至今。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村落原为澳柄村的一部分，1984年从中析出设村，因位于澳柄村东侧而得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1988年归莆田县白沙镇管辖，2002年起属涵江区白沙镇。[2]

文化[edit]

澳东村先后获得以下荣誉：2020年12月，被确定为「福建省第一批高级版绿盈乡村」；2021年3月，被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2021年12月，被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」；2022年10月，被福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

白沙红军岭在澳柄桥南端的澳柄岭上。澳柄岭是平原与山区之间的要道，一条长二十多里的石板路纵贯岭上。1930年4月，游击队在岭顶拔除了民团设置的哨卡，此后这里被称为红军岭。现岭上石板路长约450多米，保存较好。[3]

下茹山储粮库旧址在下茹山自然村。1930年，游击队在附近秘密设置储粮点，为红军活动提供后勤保障。旧址原为两层土木结构，因年久失修多数房屋已坍塌，目前尚余六间，占地650平方米。[3]

澳柄宫革命旧址在桥头自然村，是清代重建的宫庙，原奉祀修建澳柄桥的祖师。红军第23军下属的207团于1929年在宫内组建，宫墙上仍留有红军时期墨书的标语。2009年被认定为福建省第七批文保单位。[4]
