澳柄村群山环抱，村中有溪流穿过，溪两岸的田地连成片，地形低凹如同盆地。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村名与地形有关。四周群山环绕，溪流经中部，良田集中在低凹处，远望如同深凹里长出一个柄，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年以前村落属莆田县庄边区，并设澳柄乡；人民公社时期改属白沙公社，设澳柄大队。1984年改称澳柄村委会，此后1988年归莆田县白沙镇，2002年改属涵江区白沙镇。[2]

文化[edit]

1926年6月，陈天章与吴梦泽利用周末回乡发动群众、发展组织。同年10月，他们在澳柄村兴隆法坛设立了中共莆田澳柄支部，据称是莆田早期四个农村党支部之一。[1][3]

澳柄村于2024年1月被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

中共莆田澳柄支部旧址在湖井自然村，旧址即兴隆法坛。法坛建于南宋绍兴年间（1159年），供奉张公圣君，为单层土木结构，占地68平方米，内有写着革命标语的石柱。[1][3]
