顶坡村是莆田北部的门户，与福清接界。北侧倚着玳瑁山，南侧的福厦公路即国道324线，东边有蒜溪流过，与龙津溪交汇；西面与园下村相接。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明代吴氏先民来此定居，住在长满藤蔓的半山坡上，村称「滕坡头」。新中国成立后改名顶坡村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子辖2个自然村、8个村民小组，共344户。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年土改时属观霞乡；1952年观霞与东后并为铺板乡；1961年整社后分开。1962年江口人民公社设立，本村属其下的顶坡头生产大队；1984年改为顶坡村委会，2002年起归涵江区江口镇。[1]

2021年6月，村子被认定为「2021年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2021年11月，获评「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年12月，确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」，主导产业为葡萄；2023年2月，入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
