石狮村处于江口镇东北方向，靠近萩芦溪下游的迎仙溪，与萩芦镇相接，离福厦公路约2.5公里。新修的福厦铁路横穿村境。[1]

村名取辖内石牌后、狮球两地名的首字。面积约11.3平方公里，下辖12个自然村，设15个村民小组，有903户人家。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前后属江口区石狮保，此后先后归七区石狮乡与园下乡的石狮高级社，1958年设石狮大队。1961年转入蒲坂公社，1965年回归江口公社。1984年底设村委会，2002年后归涵江区管辖。[1]

2021年11月，村子获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

凤来宫依山而建，始建于明代，清代修缮，主殿、朝天阁和魁星楼等组成建筑群。2020年12月，它被列入涵江区第九批文物保护单位名单。[1]

山兜自然村另有陈氏节孝坊，清雍正七年（1729年）动工，形制仿木楼阁，为石构，四柱三间。[1]
